So Chrysler is looking at leaving Canada. Maybe I'm cold and heartless but I don't think that this is that difficult of a choice here: potentially keep my job albeit at a lower wage, or likely lose the job.
When times get tough, most reasonable people make sacrifices. Why does the auto industry, or more particularly the unionized employees think that they're above that? Have they somehow deluded themselves to think that they can escape these economic challenges completely unscathed? Sure seems that way...

I couldn't help but notice how the Media is re-enforcing the negative stereotype for Auto workers being simpletons and slack-jawed morons .
The MSM keeps threatening taxpayers that if the Govenment doesn't give Chrysler $4 billion to stay alive, that 11'000 workers will be on welfare for ever and cost us Billions in the future.
Where's the CAW on this because their tax money funds the CBC which is one of the Media outlets painting them as useless idiots that need phoney jobs with high wages to because they can't get real jobs in the private sector?
Oh the irony for the CBC that loves to attack people as bigots and idiots for saying just one bad thing about a immigant or refugee, meanwhile, the CBC labels 11'000 canadians as idiots and losers that will be on welfare for the rest of their lives if Harper lets Chrysler leave canada.
Why is it that Obama is not allowed to save American jobs in the US Auto plants for the UAW workers?
But Harper is somehow expect to bail out non-Candian car makers who may just pack-up and leave anyway in two or three years if sales stay low.

I live in Toronto and every time I go by the TTC Station I see the Union workers cars parked there and most are imports because ven they won't buy GM or FORD products while tax dollars pay their salaries, canada has Unions that don't even support other Unions and the real insult is the CAW workers who fill their homes with Imported Electronics from Mexico and China,they shop a Walmart to save money even though the goods are made by slave-labour, they also vacation in Cuba and Mexico instead of canada to support our Tourism Industry.
face it folks, Unions look out for their own and have pissed on all the others who lost their jobs when Appliances and Electronics left canada for good but nobody bailed them out , now we keep hearing the CAW cry about how Special they are because they spend there $65.00 an hour job money to help canada.
When you calculate how much Federal and Provincial Wages are needed to Administer the tax payers funding it must be more closer $100.00 an Hour to build a car but we don't see the total costs for these endless charade by the CAW to cry Poor when they threaten a strike to bankrupt Chrysler or GM.
Somebody tell Buzz or Wellnza that they won and finally DID bunkrupt GM and Chrysler and now must focus on killing FORD because it's unfair that FORD's shareholders make any money when the CAW is entitled to any profits by these greedy Corporate weasels that exploit low income workers.
That's the CAW's jobs to screw low income poeple out of money when they invest in FORD for the pension fund .
